Rooms to rent: Social

10 signs your roomate is Spanish

1.    For them their village festivals are simply the best in the world and they will keep inviting you over just so they can prove it.

2.    Even if they’re on an Erasmus in Finland, at a party they will still put ice in their drink no matter what.

3.    You’ll find them extremely happy the day they receive a parcel from home containing Spanish food – Hello jamon serrano!!!

4.   They have two extra meals a day you had no idea existed – mid-morning sandwich (almuerzo) and late night snack (resopón)

5.   Your bedtime is their dinnertime.

6.    Instead of coming over to wherever you are in the house, they will shout your name from wherever THEY are in house.

7.     After eating, peace and silence take over the house. The siesta is a sacred ritual for them. Especially during the weekends.

8.    They just love squeezing time: if you have arranged to meet up at 10, guaranteed they will hop into the shower at 9,45.

9.    They are so social that something as simple as buying their groceries can take several hours (they’ll be stopping in every corner and speaking to everyone).

10.    Eating and cooking are amusing, but there’s nothing like the “sobremesa” (the time spent after lunch or dinner, catching up with the people you’re on the table with).

1.    Porque para él las fiestas de su pueblo son las mejores del universo y no parará de invitarte para que vayas a comprobarlo.
