Best Festivals in Europe during JULY!!

Hey there! Are you enjoying the summer music festivals so far? So, this is nothing compared to what is to come! July is the best month for music festivals and we have done an amazing selection…. Keep reading until the end, you might find a nice surprise!!

5) BBK live

Bilbao, Spain; from 9th to 11th of July

This festival is located in a hill right next to Bilbao, which gives you an amazing view of the city. Moreover, the weather in Bilbao at this time is just perfect, not too cold not too hot. The lineup is fantastic, with Mumford and Sons and Muse in the headlining and many other good groups. Personally, my favorites are Alt- J and Future Islands.

For accommodation, you can whether stay in a camping outside Bilbao or stay in a hostel in the city. Staying in a camping might be cheaper but it also has the disadvantage that the weather there is quite humid and it might rain. You are also quite far from the concert hall, so you can’t walk there. On the other hand, if you stay in a hostel close to San Mamés stadium there are buses leaving every 10 minutes.

4)  Secret Garden Party

Abbots Ripton, UK; from 23rd to 26th of July

If there is one thing that British are good at is to organizing festivals. We already mentioned Glastonbury and Isle of Weight in a previous article as the best festivals for June, but Secret Garden Party …is the king of the festivals.

Starting by the fact that I am completely addicted to its playlist (that you can find it its webpage) and continuing by its themes that get better every year. This year, the organizers of the festival want to make us escape the world of the grown up and come back to our childhood. So if you didn’t get to go to Disneyland as a child here you have your opportunity!

In terms of tickets, you can only buy them on Twickets (otherwise it will probably be a scam). The festival is not so “secret” anymore, so if you want to assure a ticket you must buy it well in advance. For accommodation, the best is to stay in the festival camping since they offer many options. If you are a bit fancy (or just want to rest well) you can choose Boutique Camping, something similar to glamping.

3) Tomorrowland

Boom, Belgium; from 24th to 26th of July

One of the most famous and international festivals not only because Disney took its name for its latest movie but also because it is celebrated in three different countries: Boom in Belgium, Atlanta in USA and Sao Paolo in Brasil.

It is one of the largest electronic music festivals in Europe, so there is no need to talk about the line-up… just the top of the top make it to the main stages. However, if you are really into EDM I recommend going to the smaller stages (there are around 20) to hear some good trance and rave music.

This festival is highly demanded so make sure you book your tickets in advance and you validate online your bracelet on time. The price of the ticket doesn’t include accommodation, so you need to book a camping on the side.

2) Exit

Novi Sad, Serbia; from 9th to 12th of July

It is an award winning festival with a very interesting history. It started as a student movement fighting for peace and democracy in Serbia and the Balkans. Today it still maintains its original spirit and it is run by a non-profit organization.

It is definitely one of the best festivals in Europe, not just because I say it but because more than 620,000 people voted it among 360 festivals. So many people can’t be wrong, right?

Another reason to go to this festival is its location in the Petrovaradin Fortress, in the city of Novi Sad. A beautiful place that you would have never heard about  wouldn’t it be for this festival.

1) Arenal Sound

Burriana, Valencia; from 28th of July to 2nd of August

It is a pretty young festival since it just started in 2010 but in a few years it has become one of the best pop-rock, indie and electronic music festival. I think that its success, apart from its amazing line- up, is due to its amazing location in Burriana Beach (Valencia, Spain). The Arenal Sound is all what you dream about during the winter… sun, beach and swimming pools, friends and 24 hours of great music. All this located in the nice Mediterranean town of Burriana.

The Arenal Sound is such a cool festival that we don’t want you to miss it. So, we are giving away 2 tickets for you and your roommates. You just have to participate in our contest!!
