Located southwest to the city centre

Mission Hill is surrounded by Fenway/Kenmore, Roxbury, Jamaica Plain and Brookline. It’s located southwest to the centre of Boston.

Mission Hill is a paradise for foodies! Its two main commercial streets Tremont Street and Huntington Avenue have plenty of restaurants and bars. Places like Tasty Burger, Citizen’s Public House or Penguin Café have set up their stores in these streets.

Groceries

Apart from many convenience stores, this area has a large grocery store (Stop & Shop) in Brigham Circle Shopping mall. There are two other commercial areas where you can find smaller shops that suit your everyday needs: Roxbury Crossing and the corner of Huntington and South Huntington.

Plus, if you are into organic healthy food, the Egleston Farmers Market is set up once a week in this area.

Sport Facilities

Mission Hill offers something for everybody’s taste. If you prefer indoor activities in a gym, there are plenty of gyms in Mission Hill but if you prefer to practice exercise outdoors you can make use of its green areas. The local population takes part in the Mission Hill Road Race, which is organized once a year.

Green Areas

This neighbourhood is characteristic for its green areas. The Fitzgerald Park offers an amazing view of the Back Bay and Fenway. Moreover, the Sheehy Park is divided into 3 different levels and it hosts lots of events through the year.

Cultural offer and attractions

Huntington Avenue area is the art zone, since the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and Museum School, the Gardner Museum and the Massachusetts College of Art and Design are located around this area.

Mission Church and Triangle Architectural Conservation District are also points of interest. The last one is comprised by 71 buildings which represent the evolution of Mission Hill between 1870 and 1910.

The area also organises many alternative cultural events such as the Independent Film Festival of Boston.

Apart from the library of the Northeastern University in Mission Hill, which is located in this area, there is also the Parker Hill library, which is a branch of Boston Public Library.

Transportation

One of the main reasons why people choose to live in Mission Hill is because of its great connections with the rest of the city. You can reach downtown Boston and Boston Common in less than 15 minutes by tube. Harvard Square is only 25 minutes away. Plus, you can reach Logan International Airport in only 35 minutes, so if you want to travel you can just jump in the flight!
