Top Sport Facilities for Students in Valencia

So we have prepared an article to encourage you to take out your pyjama pants, switch off your TV shows and go out to do some sport! You cannot put any excuse to be lazy, choose the sport that you prefer and rock it!
Running in Valencia:
Running has become a very popular sport in Valencia. Moreover, you can find a few different running routes along the city. Some of the most popular are ‘Paseo Maritimo’ which is the coast line in front of Malvarrosa beach and the Turia Old River Bed.
Due to the popularity of this sport, the number of popular races has increased a lot in the past few years. From 5km, to 10 km, half marathon or complete marathon, there is a race for every level! You can take a look at all the races available.
Beach Sports in Valencia:
The beach is the perfect place to disconnect after a long day of class or studying. Moreover, in Valencia, the beach is very close to the city centre and it provides the possibility of practicing many different sports.
If you like Volley Ball, you can join Valencia’s team in their webpage . Malvarrosa Beach and Patacona Beach have available nets for everybody to play. Moreover, in the Facebook Group ‘Voley Playa Valencia Alternativo’ you can find people who organize matches around these nets.
Water sports are also very popular in Valencia, for instance Kite surfing, surfing or paddle surfing. However, they might be dangerous and very difficult to practice, so it is recommendable to start by taking some lessons. You can see below a list of surf/ kitesurf/ SUP schools:

Valencia is the perfect city to ride a bike or cycle because it is totally flat. In terms of bikes, if you don’t have your own one you can use the public service called Valenbici. Gyms in Valencia:
There are quite a few options of low cost gyms in Valencia. Firstly, some of the public gyms such as ‘La Patacona’ or ‘Abastos’ have amazing installations at really affordable prices. Have a look in their website to find more information:
Moreover, The University of Valencia and The Polytechnic University of Valencia have amazing installations in each of their campuses and they offer plenty of gym classes. The prices for these classes are normally very cheap but you must make sure that you register at the beginning of the year because the rooms are quite limited.
The ‘Universidad Católica de Valencia’ has agreements with different gyms to reduce the price to its students.
